March Monthly Networking Luncheon. Speaker: Captian Casey Jiles, Highland Police Chief

 Come hear about the State of our Community from Highlands Police Chief, Captian Casey Jiles.

 Captain Casey Jiles currently serves as the commander (Chief of Police) for the Highland Station. Casey began his career in 1996 as a civilian jail staff member. He became a deputy in 1997 assigned to the Glen Helen Rehabilitation Center. In 2000 he was promoted to patrol deputy and served in the Town of Apple Valley and Rancho Cucamonga. In 2005 he was promoted to detective and assigned to the regional training center working as a firearms, defensive tactics, chemical agents & TASER instructor. In 2006 he transferred to the Specialized Investigations Division. Initially he investigated violent physical and sexual assault cases on juveniles before eventually joining the Homicide Detail investigating murders and officer involved shootings. His last assignment in the division was with the Cold Case team. Some of the cases he investigated have been featured on Dateline, America’s Most Wanted & the Discovery channel.

 In 2009 he was promoted to sergeant and served as a watch commander at various stations for the next 8 years. Some of these assignments included Rancho Cucamonga, Highland, Twin Peaks, Victor Valley and West Valley Detention Center. He was reassigned to the Civil Liabilities unit in 2016 where he oversaw civil litigation matters against the Sheriff’s Dept. In 2017 he was promoted to Lieutenant and stayed at Civil Liabilities as the commander. Overall he was responsible for all civil lawsuits against the department, overseeing all worker compensation claims and significant high liability cases.

 In 2019 he was reassigned to the Rancho Cucamonga patrol station where he oversaw day to day operations for the patrol, retail theft and investigative divisions. He had direct oversight of roughly 140 employees.

 In 2020 he was reassigned to the Highland Station as the lieutenant, again, overseeing day to day patrol operations. In March 2021, he was promoted to Captain and remained in Highland.

 Casey holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Management from Union Institute and University and also holds a Professional Certificate in Management from the University of Notre Dame. He is soon to be married to Wendy, is the father of three kids who are all adults, one of which serves as a police officer for the Palm Springs Police Dept and he is the proud Grandfather of two Grandkids .
